Eight Local Groups Benefit from Wind Farm Community Fund

Funding worth a total of £38,982.08 was awarded earlier this year to a range of local groups and projects from the St John’s Hill Wind Farm Community Fund.

Quintas Energy, a leading independent renewable energy developer, established the St John’s Hill Windfarm Community Benefit Fund to support local groups and projects. Funding is available for the benefit of not-for-profit groups and organisations in the Community Council areas of Arbuthnott and Catterline, Kinneff and Dunnottar. Administered by Kincardineshire Development Partnership (KDP), applications to the fund are assessed by a Decision-Making Panel made up of representatives from both Community Council areas, and local representatives.  The fund is available annually for the lifetime of the wind farm.

Successful applicants this round included Arbuthnott Art & Craft Group; Arbuthnott Community Association; Arbuthnott Community Council; Catterline Coastal Rowing Club;  Catterline, Kinneff & Dunnottar Community Association;  Friends of the Grassic Gibbon Centre; Kinneff & Catterline Parish Hall Committee and  Kinneff Old Church Preservation Trust Ltd.
